In the dynamic world of retail, Wi-Fi has become critical in physical stories despite the rise of online shopping. That’s according to a recent report by Retail Systems Research and Extreme Networks Inc. titled The World is Connected: The Store Must Be Too. The report surveyed 114 executives from global retail companies with annual revenues ranging from $100 million to more than $5 billion.
Extreme Networks Tuesday introduced a cloud-based universal zero-trust network access or ZTNA solution that will provide remote access, network access control, ZTNA and mobile device management integration in one software-as-a-service offering.
Networking vendor Extreme Networks is holding its user event, Connect, this week in Berlin, Germany.
At the conference, the company announced ExtremeCloud Edge, which brings Extreme’s network management capabilities to the network edge. This includes network operations as well as analytics, AI-infused functions, and networking applications. Like most network vendors today, Extreme offers cloud management via its Cloud IQ portal.
Extreme Networks Inc. recently announced it has integrated network fabric capabilities into its ExtremeCloud SD-WAN or software-defined wide-area network, allowing customers to extend the network fabric securely across the end-to-end network, which includes the data centers, campus network and branch locations.
Many technology vendors have used artificial intelligence to transform their products. This is evident in areas like unified communications, contact centers and cybersecurity.
Yet one area of IT that has yet to see AI play a significant impact is the network. AI has been used to improve basic management functions but has yet to transform network operations.
