For years, the “wall” between storage and networking administrators has been a fixture of the enterprise data center. I spent the early part of my career as a network engineer and the arena of storage was a bit of a black box, and for most companies, that’s still the case. This is because these networks operated differently.
Pure Storage made a couple of significant announcements last week at its annual user event, Pure Accelerate, in Las Vegas. First, the company said it had released three new advanced storage-as-a-service service level agreements for the Pure Storage platform: cyber recovery, resilience and site rebalance. The company also announced new capabilities in the Pure Storage platform aimed at helping information technology and business leaders improve artificial intelligence deployments, enhance cyber resilience and modernize their applications.
Pure Storage Inc. today made several announcements aimed at further bringing a cloudlike operating model to storage and simplifying data resilience.
First, the company released a set of data resilience offerings, including Pure Protect//DRaaS, which it says is a disaster recovery-as-a-service solution, new energy efficiency guarantees for its Evergreen products, and scalable artificial intelligence-powered storage services aimed at global enterprises through its Pure1 management platform.
