Just prior to last month’s British Open, Cisco Systems Inc. announced a multiyear partnership with The R&A, a worldwide golf governing body. While there are many tech vendor–sports league marketing partnerships, this is much more than that. Cisco and The R&A are entering into a strategic infrastructure deal that should attract the attention of any IT executive looking to modernize operations across complex, distributed environments.
